Words set to music.
This one is on the very experimental side of things. Made some years ago, it's words set to dusty, melancholic beats and music. It's here as a little bonus EP if you will. It has no commercial potential, but i like it a lot.
Joshua Leonard, of Blair Witch fame and more recently Live From Baghdad, and i had worked together on a production where he was filmmaker and i composer. One night, while hanging out in Pittsburgh in between shooting, a good ways through a bottle of Johnny Walker Black, he pulled out his book of poetry and i stuck a mic in front of his face.
Later, i listened to the poems, and then created musical beds to lay behind them, sometimes even getting so specific as to tweak each few bars in order to match the lines i would place over them. I then chopped the recitation into individual phrases which i could then cut and paste over the music beds in a rythm that better suited the underlying beats.
The result, a short, poetic music album, turned out marvelous, at least if you like this sort of thing.
